The NIBE F470 is a compact, all-in-one exhaust-air heat pump designed specifically for low-energy and modern UK homes that require a combined solution for heating, domestic hot water and balanced mechanical ventilation. By recovering energy from the property’s extract air, the F470 delivers efficient heat production while ensuring hygienic ventilation in line with Building Regulations Document F. A built-in compressor module, hot-water cylinder and supply-air battery allow the unit to provide heating, hot water and pre-heated supply air from a single appliance, reducing installation complexity and space requirements.
Installers benefit from a fully integrated hydraulic package that includes the system circulation pump, shunt valve, expansion vessel and all required safety devices. The unit’s adjustable extract and supply fans support accurate ventilation balancing, and the system’s pipework layout, including connections for heating, cold water, hot water and tundish discharge, is clearly laid out to streamline installation. A thorough commissioning workflow is built into the control system, including heating curve setup, ventilation configuration and information logging.
Ongoing maintenance is equally straightforward. Removable front and side panels provide convenient access to filters, vent valves and electrical components, while a clear control interface displays operational data, alarms and service reminders. Specific guidance for electrical supply, water fittings, ventilation ducting and Benchmark compliance ensures installers can deliver a fully compliant solution with confidence. For apartments, compact houses and low-energy dwellings, the NIBE F470 offers a reliable, fully integrated, and installation-friendly approach to ventilation and heat production.

NIBE Smart Price Adaption
With Smart Price Adaption, the heat pump receives information about the electricity prices for the next 24 hours and then adapts the operation to these. The function is based on information about the hourly prices of the coming day from the electricity exchange NordPool Spot. The prices in combination with expected heating and hot water needs then automatically control the heat pump. This is in order to reduce energy costs and which in the long run contributes to a smaller environmental impact.
Advanced functions
With our wide range of accessories, the heat pump can offer a wide range of functions for heating, ventilation and solar electricity production. Click on the “Accessories” tab above to read more about the different accessories offered.
Natural refrigerant
The refrigerant moves energy in the form of liquid or gas in the heat pump. This heat pump works with a natural refrigerant that has a very low GWP (Global Warming Potential) value, for a sustainable climate and nature footprint.
The RTS 40 is a wired room sensor designed to give NIBE heat pumps more precise control of indoor comfort by feeding back the room temperature. Electrical connection varies depending on the heat pump model, making the accessory compatible with a wide range of NIBE installations. Once connected, the RTS 40 is activated through the start-up guide, enabling installers to refine zonal temperatures.
The RMU 40 is a compact room unit that allows users to control and monitor their NIBE heat pump system from a convenient location elsewhere in the home, providing an intuitive interface and integrated room sensor equivalent to the BT50. Connection to the heat pump is made via the accessory communication bus, with clear wiring diagrams and commissioning steps provided in the manual, making setup straightforward even.
The NIBE EME 20 is a compact communication module that links NIBE heat pumps directly with compatible PV inverters, enabling the system to intelligently use surplus solar generation for heating, hot water and other energy-intensive functions. Capable of handling communication with up to twelve compatible inverters in parallel, the EME 20 is suitable for both standard domestic installations and larger PV systems.
The NIBE ECS 40 kit allows installers to add one or more additional heating circuits to a NIBE heat pump installation where different supply temperatures are required, such as radiator and underfloor heating combinations. Each kit includes a dedicated AXC accessory module, shunt valve, shunt motor, circulation pump and temperature sensor, enabling the new zone to run as a fully controlled climate system with independent flow temperature, heating curve and pump operation. The ECS 40 is intended for smaller underfloor heating circuits up to 80 m².
Extra heating circuit (maximum 80-250 m2 floor heating). ECS 41 is used when heat pump is installed in houses with up to four different climate systems that require different flow line temperatures, for example, in cases where the house has both a radiator system and an under floor heating system.
