What is Demand Control Ventilation?
For systems with a NIBE ventilation accessory, Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) ensures your home gets the right amount of fresh air exactly when it’s needed; no more, no less. By constantly monitoring humidity and CO2 levels, the system automatically adjusts ventilation fan speeds to keep the air fresh and healthy while minimising energy waste.
In practice, this means more airflow during busy times, like when cooking, showering, or entertaining guests, and reduced ventilation when rooms are empty. You enjoy cleaner, fresher air without unnecessary heat loss or hassle. The system also works hand-in-hand with your heat pump, so your home stays warm and comfortable even as ventilation increases.
For homeowners, the benefits are clear; better air quality, improved comfort, and lower running costs, all without having to make manual adjustments. DCV quietly works in the background, delivering the perfect balance of efficiency and comfort, while helping to reduce your household’s carbon footprint.
