NIBE Energy Systems Limited has been named the winner of the John Connell Quiet Mark Commercial Award 2025, presented by the Noise Abatement Society (NAS) at the House of Commons on 22nd October.
Recognised as the ‘Noise Oscars,’ the John Connell Awards honour organisations and individuals who champion excellence in noise reduction and soundscape improvement. This year, the judging panel commended NIBE for its prominent use of Quiet Mark certification and its low-noise performance focus across its UK and European product communications.
The award highlights NIBE’s commitment to designing sustainable, energy-efficient heat pumps that deliver powerful performance with minimal sound, helping transform homes into sanctuaries of comfort and tranquillity.
Several of NIBE’s market-leading heat pumps have earned the prestigious Quiet Mark certification, including the NIBE S735 Exhaust Air Heat Pump, NIBE F2050 Air Source Heat Pump and NIBE S1156 and S1256 Ground Source Heat Pump. Each product is designed to combine advanced acoustic engineering with high efficiency, making them among the quietest and most effective renewable heating solutions available in the UK and Europe. With noise levels as low as 35dB(A), these products set new standards for sound performance while reducing carbon emissions and energy costs for homeowners.
“We’re honoured to receive this year’s John Connell Quiet Mark Commercial Award,” said Paul Smith, Managing Director, NIBE Energy Systems Limited. “Noise reduction is a fundamental part of our product development and customer promise. As more homeowners embrace renewable heating, it’s essential that comfort includes both sustainability and serenity.”
The award was presented by Defra Minister Emma Hardy during a reception at the House of Commons Terrace Pavilion, attended by more than 170 guests from government, industry, architecture, construction and academia.
NAS established the awards in 2001 to recognise advancements that improve the aural environment for communities, workplaces, and homes. NIBE’s recognition underscores the company’s leadership in promoting quiet, efficient, and environmentally responsible heating solutions.
“NIBE exemplifies how innovation and design can work seamlessly together to create technologies that support both wellbeing and sustainability,” said Gloria Elliott OBE, Chief Executive of the Noise Abatement Society. “Their dedication to noise-conscious engineering and their leadership through Quiet Mark set an outstanding example to the industry.”
