Alan Unwin – District Networks Key Accounts

“What I value most at NIBE is being part of a supportive team, working together to provide the right solutions for our clients and their projects.”

Alan began his career with a four-year apprenticeship before working for several companies installing and servicing heating equipment. At age 30, he transitioned into sales, working with both small-to-mid-sized firms and global organisations such as Honeywell and Kamstrup.

In 2016, Alan joined Alfa Laval as National Sales Manager for Heat Interface Units (HIUs), later expanding his remit to include substations and tap-water products. Following the sale of that division to NIBE in 2018, he continued in the same role with Cetetherm until his official transfer to NIBE in July 2025. With City & Guilds qualifications in Heating Installations, Welding, and Gas Fault Finding & Rectification, he brings deep technical expertise and a long-standing knowledge of the district energy sector.

At NIBE, Alan is responsible for answering enquiries on HIUs and network substations, engaging with design consultants, energy providers, installation contractors and distributors. He plays a key role in linking internal design teams to projects, ensuring the right solutions are offered to clients, while also managing sales and building relationships through client visits.
