NIBE Pro MCS Certification and Training


For installers new to the heat pump industry and looking to gain their MCS certification whilst looking increase their knowledge and skill base, NIBE Pro training courses are designed specifically your you. This training course is split across five key areas detailed below to help your business iget started. The five areas are:

  1. RQF Level 3 Award in Heat Pump Technology – Air Source and Ground Source Heat Pumps
  2. NIBE Air Source Installation and Commissioning
  3. NIBE Ground Source Installation and Commissioning
  4. MCS Compliance Training - MCS 001 Contractor Requirements
  5. MIS 3005 Installation and Design.

NIBE Pro MCS Certification and Training Course

Course Duration: 5 Days (non-consecutive)

This course covers the following:

RQF Level 3 Award in Heat Pump Technology – Air Source and Ground Source Heat Pumps

The objective of this qualification is for learners to demonstrate they know and understand the requirements for installing heat pump systems and the different operational characteristics of ground, air and exhaust air heat pumps.

Principles of heat pump selection, system design, emitter selection, hydraulics, the preparatory work required for heat pumps installations and the requirements to install, commission and hand over heat pump systems

NIBE Air Source Installation and Commissioning

NIBE air source product range, applications and sizing, mechanical and electrical installation, docking diagrams, control systems, system commissioning, basic fault finding, myUplink

NIBE Ground Source Installation and Commissioning

NIBE ground source product range, applications and sizing, mechanical, electrical and ground loop installation, docking diagrams, control systems, system commissioning, basic fault finding, Uplink

MCS Compliance Training - MCS 001 Contractor Requirements

Provide learners with training and demonstration of the requirements for MCS contractors in accordance with MCS 001 including quality management systems, customer care and installation records.

MIS 3005 Installation and Design

Provide learners with training and demonstration of the requirements for MCS contractors in accordance with MIS 3005 including design, installation and commissioning and system performance information.

Course Locations: Chesterfield

Pre-requisite Qualifications: In order to qualify for joining NIBE Pro you must meet one of the below requirements, in addition to the final criteria points.

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;

or

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;

or

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilating (Industrial and Commercial Installation)or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;

or

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Oil-Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence;

or

N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Gas Installation and Maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence.

In addition, if not included in the above current certification in relation to:

Low Temperature Heating and Hot water Systems in Dwellings and/or Energy Efficiency

WRAS Water Regulations/Water Byelaws or equivalent

Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems (G3)

How much does this course cost? £1800 (plus VAT) but a current introductory offer of £1500 (plus VAT), However these costs towards becoming a NIBE Pro are fully redeemable through the NIBE Pro cashback voucher scheme.
