Technical Engineer - Applications and Design

NIBE is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of renewable energy products. We supply homes with heat pump products that provide domestic hot water and ensure a comfortable indoor climate. NIBE's heat pumps range includes, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Air Source Heat Pumps, Exhaust Air Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal Panels. We offer high-tech heat pump solutions for heating, ventilation, cooling and heat recovery that reflect today's demand for sustainable construction.

We are looking for a Technical Engineer based at our head office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire to provide design and applications support on our range of heat pumps for our growing installer network.

Main duties to include:

  • Handling pre-sales technical enquiries
  • Project design support including preparation of quotations, heat losses, mechanical and electrical layouts
  • Produce and prepare project document packs in accordance with industry standards
  • Provide support to installers in regard to industry regulations, standards and government incentives
  • Liaise with field based Project Support Engineers to support installers produce quotations
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of design, quotation, job management and industry compliance documents.

Other duties to include:

  • Technical telephone support to field engineers and our installer network
  • Supporting the external sales team with product demonstrations
  • Site surveys
  • Commissioning support visits
  • On site assessment of installations ensuring adherence to manufacturers instructions and industry standards

Essential Skills & Experience

This role requires excellent IT, organisational, communication and presentation skills, a strong customer focus and an individual who is comfortable talking in front of people in a variety of settings.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of an Advanced City & Guilds in plumbing and heating or equivalent with a minimum of two years experience in a related industry.

Desired Skills & Experience

Theoretical and/or practical heat pump experience, knowledge of MCS heat pump standards
