Design engineer

NIBE is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of renewable energy products. We supply homes with heat pump products that provide domestic hot water and ensure a comfortable indoor climate. NIBE's heat pumps range includes, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Air Source Heat Pumps, Exhaust Air Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal Panels. We offer high-tech heat pump solutions for heating, ventilation, cooling and heat recovery that reflect today's demand for sustainable construction.

We are looking for a Design Engineer based at our head office in Chesterfield, Derbyshire to provide design and project support on our range of heat pumps and ventilation systems.

Main duties to include:

  • Creating drawings for on-site implementation using CAD and REVIT.
  • Complete building fabric and ventilation heat loss calculations.
  • Modify existing drawings and update the database.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating design and estimating documentation.
  • Providing estimates to customers for proposed designs.
  • Work with the product engineer and sales team to plan, monitor and implement designs.
  • Keep up to date with the relevant British Standards and Building Regulations.
  • Deal with pre-sales technical enquiries.
  • Produce other drawings and information as requested by your department manager.
  • As a team member of the Technical Department you will be asked on occasion to work on a variety of projects unrelated to your usual day to day work.

Essential Skills & Experience:

This role requires excellent IT, organisational and communication skills.

The successful candidate should preferably hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in Building Services with experience using CAD. Applicants with a minimum of three years vocational experience in Building Services design, a relevant Level 3 qualification and experience using CAD will also be considered.

Must be capable of working across multiple projects at various stages with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, able to communicate clearly at effectively at all times and work to deadlines.
