The NIBE SP water heater consists of a double jacket heater and storage tank unit of sheet steel. A copper lining protects the internal storage tank from corrosion. The shell space, the water tank and the copper lining are all pressure-tested.
The maximum permissible temperature is 95°C.
Thermal insulation for the water tank is provided by seamless polyurethane, greatly reducing heat loss.
The outer cladding is plastic-coated steel sheet.
The heater can be installed vertically or horizontally. When installing the heater vertically, ensure that it is plumb by means of the four adjustable feet. For horizontal installation, support the unit from the bar on the top.
A special foot stand is available as an accessory.
The cold water connection must be provided with the necessary valves. On the hot water side, the heater must be fitted with a mixer valve that restricts supply temperature to 60 °C. If this valve is omitted, other means must be employed to prevent risk of scalding.
If the unit mounted vertically, an NIBE ELK 213 electric heater can be connected directly to the heater connections. Threaded flanges are available as accessories. If it is installed horizontally, a circulation pump must be provided.
The unit is fitted with compression fittings and threaded connections.
